Building Performance Testing

Energy Star Certification

For high performing buildings, Energy Star Certification is not only a great way to show your building is performing at a high level compared to your peers, but it also shows your commitment to occupant indoor environmental quality.

Indoor Environmental Quality Testing

Required for WA & OR buildings >20,000 ft2.

This testing ensures that buildings meet minimum outside air requirements while providing proper visual and thermal comfort.

At UMC, we take actual airflow measurements instead of relying on calculations from sensors that often are not calibrated or in the right locations.

AHU Performance Testing

Air handlers are significant energy users. Checking for coil leak by, coil airflow performance, sensor calibration, damper controls and more can boost efficiencies and capacity while saving energy.

Zone Optimization

Testing and scrutinizing zone setpoints and operation is crucial to great performance. By optimizing zones, especially critical zones, you can have a cascade effect of energy savings throughout your building

Critical Sensor Testing

Critical sensors are those that have high performance or energy impacts such as outdoor air temperature, AHU supply temperature and pressure, room pressure, and outside air flow, others. Verifying proper operation and calibration on a regular basis is vitally important for performance.
